As
a potential guest for ART ON THE AIR, here is some information that will
help prepare for being a guest on the show.
Please send your background/bio/MP3 any info about projects/exhibits etc, at
least a few days before the interview
that would be helpful in preparing for the show (see below).
We are pre-recording interviews and do telephone or preferably
ZOOM with video for interviews but only using audio for the show itself.
We need to do Spotlight Interviews the week prior to the air date.
We get the best audio results on ZOOM using a headset or mic.
We can do Landline or cell phone if necessary (no speakerphone).
Please have these ready to use at the time for your interview.
We pre-record interviews and preferably do ZOOM interviews
usually on Tuesdays, though we are happy to arrange other days/times.
The show format - we do a six minute arts event Spotlight Interview with local
arts organizations about current or upcoming events.
We then move onto our Feature Interview – usually two 24
minute segments or occasionally a single 48 minute segment.
Usually we start with personal background:
hometown, school (HS & college), work, spouse/kids etc.
Then move on to the current work/exhibit/project/event.
Here are some tips to help us have a great show together:
PRE-INTERVIEW
Please send materials like bio/background/MP3/images at least
several days before your interview.
Make certain you send then to AOTA@brech.com
or LAB@brech.com.
Include links to your website, Facebook or other such web media.
Supply your email and telephone to
AOTA@brech.com
or LAB@brech.com
to set up ZOOM meeting invitations.
The ZOOM invitation will come from
doctorlabrechner@gmail.com.
We need a headshot of you (preferably) or your art for our website and
promotion. We can pull that from social media.
When sending materials in email, do not include large
files in an email with over 10MB as we may not receive them.
If for some reason you have large files, please arrange for a sharing from
Dropbox, Google, or downloads from a website.
Send documents in WORD (DOC/DOCX) or PDF, or plain TEXT.
If sending music, MP3 is the preferred.
We are pre-recording interviews and do telephone or preferably
ZOOM interviews.
We get the best audio results on ZOOM using a headset or mic.
We can do Landline or cell phone if necessary (no speakerphone).
Please have these ready to use at the time for your interview.
INTERVIEW
Please be on time and ready to go at your scheduled time.
If you are unable to on-time, please notify us.
We many times schedule back-to-back interviews so
We will do audio check and go over details before we start the interview.
When
giving a website please forego using “www” for the URL address.
When we start we run the interviews “live to tape” meaning
that we prefer not stopping during the interview.
The final interview will go through some editing to make certain it fits our
time. I
If a problem does come up we can stop and restart, but prefer to run the
interview straight through.
For Spotlight Interviews, these are 6 minutes long
discussing specifics about your event, gallery, project.
Please be prepared with, dates, times, locations web/facebook links.
Be aware of the broadcast date and use dates for the event and not “next Friday”
or similar.
For our Feature Interviews, are usually 24 minutes unless
we do a double interview (48 minutes).
Usually we start with personal background: hometown, school (HS & college),
work, spouse/kids etc.
Then move on to the current work/exhibit/project/event.
Be prepared to discuss details of your art/music and have website/social media
site info at the ready.
We will record slightly longer than 24 minutes so we can edit pauses or other
issues.
For shows with music or other recorded material, we may opt not
to actually play it during the interview and just introduce the song/audio then
dub it later.
POST-INTERVIEW
We will let you know what the airdate for you show will be on the
air.
Please share links from our facebook (www.facebook.com/artontheairwvlp)
and website (brech.com/aota)
on your social media.
We may send you a pre-broadcast link to your show. You are free
to listen but do not share until it is broadcast.
After that you may share it on social media, website, etc.
